Test Site Overview

Elliott's Sunnyvale and Fremont facilities are versatile. Some of the Labs, OATS (Open Area Test Sites), and work areas are used for multiple purposes. Some facilities are better suited for a particular purpose than others.

3 meter transmitters and transceivers;
30 MHz to 40 GHz (electric field).
Chamber#1 Radiated Immunity;

Radiated emission prescans, 9 kHz to 10 GHz.
Chamber#2 Preliminary radiated and conducted emissions evaluations and debug
prior to OATS testing,9 kHz to 40 GHz;
No Final Qualification capability;
Best suited for multiple complete radiated emission scans to compare EUT
performance (before and after modification);
Not as accurate as the 3 meter Lab to perform radiated emissions scans
below 200 MHz.
3m Lab Preliminary (and debug) radiated and conducted emissions evaluations, 9
kHz to 1 GHz, single or multiple units, (no final qualifications);
Best suited for limited radiated emissions scans to compare EUT
performance (e.g. before and after modification);
Often used to debug single frequency problems;
Final Qualifications: Harmonics & flicker, Voltage dips and interrupts,
Magnetic emissions, and Magnetic Immunity.
EMC Lab Area Final, preliminary, and debug testing;
Harmonics and flicker, EN 61000-3-2, EN 61000-3-3, JEIDA;
Electrostatic discharge (ESD), EN 61000-4-2;
Up to 8kV Contact Discharge, 16.5 kV Air Discharge;
Electrical fast transient (EFT), EN 61000-4-4;
Surge immunity, EN 61000-4-5;
Conducted immunity, 61000-4-6, CS 114;
Magnetic immunity, 61000-4-8, EN 55103, RS 101;
Voltage dips and interrupts, (VDI), EN 61000-4-11;
Magnetic emissions, EN 55103, RE 101;
Quasi-static FDA Reviewer Guidance Documents.
Environmental Chamber Final qualification temperature range test (often required for transmitters.Useful range: -40C to 150C, 0 to 93% RH. Consult with Facilities for specific profiles.
Machine Shop and Retrofit Parts
A small machine shop with power tools can be used by Elliott personnel to assist with your EUTs modifications. For retrofit, we have a small stock of metal foil, conductive gaskets, finger stock, cable ferrites, fasteners, and I/O and power line filters.

Fremont Site

The Fremont test facilities include a 10m chamber, two 5m chambers, two EMC laboratories, and a wired telecom laboratory.

Chamber Capabilities and Suitabilities

Final radiated and conducted emissions evaluations and debug testing over the frequency range of 9 kHz to 40 GHz, FCC Part 15, EN 55011 / CISPR 11, EN 55022 / CISPR 22, EN/IEC 60601-1-2, GR1089, EN 55103, EN 300 386, EN 61326, EN 55013

Final Radiated Immunity evaluations and debug testing over the frequency range of 10kHz to 10GHz - up to 10V/m field strength, EN 61000-4-3 (as referenced in many product specific standards such as EN 55024, EN 61326, EN 55103, EN 61000-6-1, and EN 61000-6-2), GR1089

Chamber 3, Chamber 4, and Chamber 5 are best suited for complete Final Qualification Radiated Emissions, Radiated Immunity, and Conducted Emission scans to officially demonstrate compliance with most worldwide EMC standards.

Chamber 3 is also suited to meet the Taiwanese BSMI requirements which state that testing must be performed at a 10m test distance.
